History
I grew up in a small town called Newington, Connecticut, where I got my
primary and secondary education. After high school I went to the
University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and got my
bachelors in Electrical Engineering in May 2002 with
minors in Japanese and Computer Science. While I was there I was involved in the
Japanese Animation Club or JAC for short, 1 year as tape
librarian and 2 as president. That was a handful, but it gave me some good experience at
administration, organization, and managing people. I also met my husband, Wesley Kwong, who
exchanged at UIUC, and did some research for Professor Ilesamni Adesida in etching the III-V
semiconductors InP and InAlAs during my last semester there. After graduating from UIUC, I got
my masters in Electrical Engineering at
University of Minnesota at Minneapolis-St. Paul
(another double-city university) in May 2004. I got married in June 2004 and am currently looking
for employment in the Portland, Oregon area, where my husband and I are currently residing.
